Myanmar's Art

There isn't much secular art in Myanmar, most art (sculpture and painting) has strong Buddhist influences. Architecture on the other hand has influences from India, as do some other forms of Myanmar art.

Myanmar has artisans who weave silk and make lacquerware. Lacquerware is an involved process of coating an object made from bamboo with a resin that hardens. Many layers are usually put on pieces of lacquerware for the highest sheen and quality.
