In 1992 the
road system covered approximately 180,000 kilometers with
51% of the roads with asphalt. There were an
estimated number of 2 million motorists in 1992, including
932,000 motorcycles, 454,000 automobiles, 220,000
tractors, 157,000 trucks and vans, and 37,000 buses.
There is also an extensive network of railway in Pakistan.
Pakistan
has three airlines that service the country and
surrounding areas: Pakistan International Airline, Aero
Asia and Airblue. There are also several airports,
some of which are internation: Islamabad International
Airport, Quaid-E-Azam International Airport, Karachie
Airport (also known as Jinnah International Airport),
Quetta Airport, Sialkot International Airport, Peshawar
Airport and the new Allama Iqbal International Airport
Lahore.
