Rape Blossom Festival
|
|
In the spring, gorgeous rape blossom of a brilliant
yellow begin to bloom everywhere in Jeju Island, outshining
the snow-capped view of Mt. Halla.
'Rape Blossom Festival' is the main spring event of Jeju
Island and takes place every April. There are many attractions
and hands-on events during the festival, such as the Jorang
horse festival, rape blossom arrangement contest, rape blossom
sketching contest, and amateur singing contest.

Royal
Azalea Blossom Festival

In May, the foot of Mt. Halla turns red with royal azalea
blossoms. Once azalea blossom all over along the azalea
garden of Mt. Halla's Seongpanak route and Yeongsil shelter to
Witseoreum, the 'Mt. Halla Royal Azalea Festival' begins. The
beautiful harmony of royal azalea blossoms growing wild on the
highlands (1,700m) and various wild flowers present a grand
sight. Walking up Mt. Halla while enjoying the beautiful
scenery of wild flowers and trees will be an unforgettable
experience.

World Festival for Island Culture

'Jeju World Festival for Island Culture' is an international
event hosting various festivities in which 30 islands from all
over the world can participate. Islands such as Bali of Asia's
Pacific, Hawaii of America, Scotland and Ireland of Europe,
St. Lucia and Jamaica of Central America and Africa
participate in the events to introduce their culture.
All sorts of interesting programs, such as the Int'l Island
Traditional Wedding, Int'l Percussion Exhibition, and Miss
Island Contest are held during the festival. It is an exciting
event where you can experience unique cultural aspects of many
islands.

The crowded beach and the Tap-dong performance hall is the
center of Jeju Island's Summer Festival.
Various
festivities including concerts, sand sculpture displays, beach
volleyball tournament, and singing contest are held in Jeju
Island's main beach areas such as Hyeopje, Pyoseon, Hamdeok,
Hwasun.
You can spend a fun and romantic summer night at the Tap-dong
seaside performance hall in Jeju City, where all sorts of
performances (singing, dancing, plays, and Korean folk music)
and exhibitions are held during 'Summer-night Beach Festival'.

Ironman
Asia Triathlon Jeju, Korea

The triathlon is a symbol of youth and energy, and has
associations with over 10 million members worldwide. It is a
226km race combining 3 categories - swimming, cycling, and
running.
'Ironman Asia Triathlon Jeju, Korea' is the official race in
Asia recognized by the World Triathlon Center (WTC). Athletes
from all over the world participate in this universal event,
taking place in the beautiful grounds of Jeju Island.
There are other international sports tournaments, including
the International Fishing Tournament and the Int'l Windsurfing
Contest.

70-ri Festival
|

'Seogwipo
70-ri Festival' (comes from the 70-ri long coastal scene of
Seogwipo district) is held at Seogwipo's beautiful beach area,
which is also known as 'Venice of Korea'.
Various events such as parades, plays, childrens song contest,
singing contest, and sky free jump show are held at famous
sights of Seogwipo City, including the Jeoungbang Cheonjiyeon
Waterfall area and Seogwipo Harbor.
You will definitely have a lot of fun at this exciting
festival.

Eulalia
Flower Festival

The fall season in Jeju Island, with a wave of eulalia, the
cattle and sheep grazing on the green fields, and the clear
blue sky, creates a romantic effect.
'Eulalia Flower Festival' takes place on the charming fields
of Jeju Island. Various programs are held at Isidol Ranch
including a show by popular singers and famous stars as well
as folk performances; traditional marketplace; and an
exhibition of native food.
It will be great to look back on the memories of the Jeju
Island's beautiful autumn.

Tangerine Festival |

As late fall draws near, the tangerine trees in Jeju Island
are loaded with clusters of ripe fruits.
'Jeju Tangerine Festival' is held at the gold-tinted tangerine
garden in order to campaign the excellence of Jeju tangerines
and celebrate the good harvest. Various festivities such as
the Miss Tangerine Contest, Tangerine Fair and, and the
traditional marketplace opening take place in appreciation of
the hard-working farmers.
Plantations were recently set up in several places where
tourists can personally pick and eat tangerines. Picking
tangerines with family and friends will be a new experience
for those used to the city life.

Halla Snowflake Festival

The true beauty of Mt. Halla in the winter is, without a
doubt, the white snowflake blossoming on the branches of old
trees.
The snow-capped
palm tree is a unique sight you can only see in Jeju Island.
'Mt. Halla Snowflake Festival' hosts various events for
tourist participation -Dance, Snow/Ice Sculpture Contest,
Halla Fashion Show, etc.
Climbing up Mt. Halla and seeing snowflake is one of the best
part of the winter season in Jeju Island. You will forget all
about the midwinter cold weather while skiing and sledding in
the sparkling snowy fields.
Seeing the
beautiful snowflakes in the southern surroundings of Jeju
Island will truly be an extraordinary experience.
