After the
blockbuster success of silver-screen adaptation Tazza:
The High Rollers, Hur Young Man's popular comic
comes to the small screen in the highly anticipated
star-studded 2008 SBS drama Tazza. A
thrilling tale of high-stakes gambling, dangerous
seduction, and bloody justice, Tazza stars
Jang Hyuk (Thank You) as an upstart gambler
out to get revenge on the man who robbed him of his
family and freedom. The drama co-stars beautiful
actresses Han Ye Seul (Fantastic Couple) and
Kang Sung Yeon (Single Dad in Love), Kim Min
Joon (Damo, Surgeon Bong Dal Hee) as the
brashly charismatic bad guy, and veteran Kim Gab Soo
as the notorious Ah Gwi.
Kind and
warm-hearted, Goni (Jang Hyuk) only hopes for a
better life for his single, hard-working mother
(Park Soo Chun). He first starts gambling to make
money to buy her a sewing machine, and even
encourages her remarriage with local photographer
Dae Ho (Lee Ki Yeol). What Goni doesn't know,
however, is that his stepfather used to be a
swindler and that his friend Young Min (Kim Min Joon)
is actually plotting against Dae Ho. In the end, Dae
Ho gets killed because of Young Min and Goni lands
in jail where he learns the ins and outs of
gambling. Upon Goni's release, he has only one goal:
to gamble his way to the top and exact revenge on
Young Min and his mastermind uncle Ah Gwi (Kim Gab
Soo).
